A few practical decisions before you begin can make the assessment more useful.
Read the assessment information
Confirm the mock you are opening and review the configured blocks and any assignment note. If a tutor assigned it, understand its purpose and due date before you start. Allow enough uninterrupted time for the assessment rather than trying to fit it between unrelated tasks.
ABC-123 mocks use the settings configured for that assessment. Consult the official USMLE examination information for current official formats; a platform mock should not be assumed to duplicate every part of the official experience.
Set up the device and connection
Choose a device on which you can comfortably read and navigate questions. Make sure it has power and use a stable connection. Close distractions and arrange what you need before beginning.
Check the player’s save status while working. Responses are saved to the server, and the player retries when connectivity returns, but an interruption does not stop the deadline. Do not assume an unsaved answer has reached the server.
Understand the block boundary
You can navigate and flag questions within the active block. Once you move to the next block, or the current block expires, the earlier block closes. Its responses cannot be changed by returning to the page.
Treat a block as a defined piece of work. A brief pacing observation can be useful later, but avoid letting the act of recording notes disrupt the assessment itself. Your response history will provide part of the evidence for review.
Plan the review before the result arrives
Submission creates a Pending Review record. Use that status to track the attempt, and return when administration releases the result. Look at the overall score, the item counts behind the breakdowns and the review content allowed for that mock.
Bring the result to the purpose of the assessment. Did it test a particular area, a mixed set or a preparation checkpoint? Discuss recurring difficulties with your tutor and choose a focused next step rather than immediately taking another mock without review.
