USMLE PREPARATION
A different focus.
At every Step.
The work changes as you move from foundational science to clinical reasoning and applied practice. Start with your examination, then build a preparation routine you can explain, measure and improve.
YOUR PREPARATION MAP
Where are you heading?
01 / CHOOSE YOUR EXAM
Three Steps. One connected approach.
Your exam determines the questions you work with and the areas you review. Your available question bank and mock exams appear in your student workspace after ABC-123 approves the appropriate access.
STEP 01
Build the scientific foundation.
Step 1 focuses on applying the sciences that underpin medicine. Preparation should connect a mechanism with the system it affects, rather than leave each subject in a separate notebook. Use targeted practice to revisit an uncertain concept, and mixed sessions to check whether you can recognize it in a different setting.
STEP 02 CK
Make the clinical connection.
Step 2 CK centers on applying clinical knowledge to patient care. Use question practice to work through the clues, compare plausible choices and explain the decision. Released subject and system breakdowns help you decide where a focused review would be more useful than another broad session.
STEP 03
Put knowledge into practice.
Step 3 brings biomedical and clinical knowledge into decisions relevant to unsupervised practice. Build a routine that gives attention to prioritization and management as well as recalling facts. ABC-123 provides question-based preparation; the official computer-based case simulation component should also be prepared for using the USMLE resources.
02 / BUILD YOUR ROUTINE
Practice, review, then choose again.
A preparation plan becomes useful when it changes what you do next. Choose a defined focus, complete the session, and return to the reviewed result. Compare several attempts before drawing a conclusion from one percentage. Your assigned tutor can help connect that pattern to a practical next step.
- Question practice around your Step and available classifications.
- Timed mock exams with configured blocks and deadlines.
- Reviewed results and tutor-authored reports in your workspace.
